What’s in the Onion Rings?
The current Canadian Onion Rings feature:
- Real onion slices
- Crispy tempura-style batter
- A golden, crunchy exterior
The 2026 Canadian menu upgrade specifically changed the Onion Rings to use a tempura batter with real onion slices.
Taste & Texture
The combination of real onion slices and crispy batter gives these Onion Rings a crunchy outside with an onion-forward center. They can work as a salty snack on their own or as a side alongside a burger or sandwich.
Because texture can change after sitting for a while, Onion Rings are generally best enjoyed soon after they are served.
Side or Snack?
Onion Rings are primarily a side or snack item rather than a complete meal by themselves.
They can be ordered alongside burgers, chicken sandwiches, or other menu items. Burger King Canada also currently features Onion Rings as one of the choices in its $5 Snack Box promotion, although offers can change over time.
